Please be reminded to make sure the new eyeglasses are clear. If still unclear, except for faulty prescription
, below are the potential causes that led to longer adjustment period. If your eyes are sensitive or haven't changed eyeglasses for a long while, it's better to avoid these circumstances
Difference in frame size, especially from small frame to larger one
When you switch to a larger frame from a smaller one, the lens’s size and shape will also increase. Your eyes will expose to more sights or lights that your eyes used to and result in discomfort.
Switch between Spherical lens and aspherical lens
If you were wearing spherical lense and upgrade to aspherical lens now, the different curve of lense will also result in particular discomfort.
Difference in frame style
Change in curve and dimensions of new frame, usually happened in sun glasses or sports glasses, especially when you have severe astigmatism
Change in the distance from lens to your nose. The position or dimension of nosepad on each eyeglasses is different and it might throws off the comfortable and familiar dynamic that you (and your eyes) previously enjoyed if the frame style have huge difference.
In addition, for beryllium and frameless eyeglasses, we usually polish the lens in purpose. It is more stylish but may result in discomfort if you’re not used to the polish effect. If you’re used to lens without polishing, please mark “Normal polish” or “No polish” in order.
How to do self check
You can use below tips to self check whether the discomfort is came from reasons mentioned above.
1. Wear glasses and look at a point about 10m away. Use a small piece of paper to hide of your vision so that you can only see upper half from your vision. Do you feel less dizzy when look at the same point?
2. Wear glasses and look at a point about 100m. Hold the frame and move in (or move out) to your eyes so that the lens can be closer (or away) from your eyes. Do you feel less dizzy now when look at the same point?
If you feel better after either of the tips above, we suggest you to continue wearing it for a few more days. Please DO NOT change to different eyeglasses in adjustment period. If you still experience any appreciable distortion after several days (3-6 days), be sure to contact us via info@FitGlasses.com, we are here to help you solve the discomfort for sure.
